Every Life is Beautiful

Every life is beautiful. From the unborn children, to the people living on the streets. God has made all of us for a purpose. We aren't here by chance or coincidence.

Psalm 139:13-14

"For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful,I know that full well."

God sees us when we apply layers of makeup to our face, hoping to cover the insecurity we feel. He sees us when we're hurt and don't know where to turn. He created you for more. He created you to praise Him in the storm, not feel depressed. He created us to be who we are, not the people we see in magazines or on TV. He is the freedom from your insecurities. When you begin to seek Him, you see how your identity is found in Christ, not in makeup. You see that He has peace when you're in a storm, and you can truly praise Him with a thankful heart. When we meet with God, others can tell through our words and actions. You may even literally have a glow about you because you can't help but have JOY. When you meet with God, you are truly radiant. Today, thank God for making you just the way you are and truly seek Him.

Blessings,

Thankful for the Bleak Days

2/27/2014

Most people prefer winter over summer, because they don't like having to stay inside, or the bleakness. Let's do something different. Instead of complaining to God about how much we want spring to come, let's thank Him for winter.

Picture

To me, winter symbolizes our life without Christ. Our lives were bleak and empty, and we weren't truly alive. Spring represents the new life we experience when we become Christians. We see the beauty around us, and God's grace and love.

Picture

The crazy thing is, we wouldn't appreciate the beauty of spring as much if we didn't have to go through winter! As spring approaches, don't just wish yourself away to the future. Thank God for every moment of winter, and live every day for Him!

Blessings,

Moriah :)

Relying on God

2/24/2014

You know those nights when you stay up late worrying about life's storms and you just don't know what to do? Last week felt like that. Friday night I finally got to sleep, but woke up in the middle of the night. I was wide awake again, but I wasn't worrying anymore. In the dark silence, I heard God telling me "Rely on Me."

Picture

We can make the choice to trust God, or be burdened by our worries and fears.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Are you giving God everything? If you truly seek God, there won't be room for fear and doubt in your heart. Be bold, compassionate, and urgent.

Blessings,

Moriah

Living the Godly Life

2 Peter 1:3

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness."

Picture

Have you ever looked at people like Beth Moore, Francis Chan, or a leader in your church and think, I wish I could be like them! I wish I could love God so much that I can't help but share about Him! Sometimes we use the excuse of, "I'm not good enough" and carry on with our lives. We are all people. If you are a Christian, God has given you everything you need to be the Godliest person on earth! I remember when I was younger, I would read about people like Job or Noah and wish that God could say of me, "she was the Godliest person of her time". Fact is, nothing is hindering us from being that person we are called to be, except ourselves! Instead of studying His Word, we study everyone's lives on social media. Instead of meeting with Him, we gossip about others behind their back. Yes, if you're a Christian, you are saved and covered by God's grace, but if you don't work hard to meet with Him, you won't become the person He has called you to be. In this world of business, we sometimes put God aside, and run after the things of this world. This week I challenge you to fight to meet with Him! The next time you meet with God could be the most intimate time you've ever experienced, if you would stop going through the motions. It's not easy, but it is so worth it.

Blessings,

Moriah

Valentine's Day—And John 3:16

Today I was helping with our church's children's choir. One of the second graders came running to me with a giant smile. "Moriah! Guess what? I have a boyfriend!" I smiled and she ran off to get her snack. That comment from a seven year old made me think. The world is telling girls that they need a boy to make them feel special. To make them feel loved. Who is going to step up and tell them that there is a Heavenly Father who loves them so much more than any boyfriend could? This week, as we approach Valentine's Day, I am giving you a challenge. Give someone a valentine, only instead of the normal message of "love you" or "best friends forever" write John 3:16.

Picture

You can even take it a step further and write about how much Jesus loves them no matter what. If you decide to take part in this, you can comment below and I will praying that their hearts will be open for the Gospel!

Blessings,

Moriah

Let the Rain Fall

2/5/2014

Rain falls softly outside my window, as I sit pondering life(I tend to do that a lot haha). My grandfather suddenly had a very severe stroke last week. What do you do when a storm suddenly comes up and the security you seemed to feel is blown away? I sometimes take life for granted, and ignore the fact that humans aren't on this earth forever. My security lay in my ignorance, even when I knew reality. What do you do when you have nothing to hold on to? Some say to cling to Jesus, but often, we just need Him to carry us through the storm. He has brought us this far, and He will carry us through life's storms.

Why does God sometimes allow us to go through more than we can stand? Most of the time, He's trying help us grow.

Faith. That's what He strengthens in life's storms. That's why sometimes, His blessings come through raindrops, and His healing in tears.{Laura Story; Blessings} When we have no where to turn, and we feel confused and alone, we must come to Jesus. So many times we turn to people for relief from our problems, telling them everything that we're going through, and we only find comfort for a little while. We should turn to the One who already knows what we're going through. He is just waiting for us to turn to Him, and He will guide us through the storm, and our faith will be made stronger, in the presence of our Savior. {Hillsong United; Oceans} People will disappoint us, but God never will. He's always faithful, yesterday, today, and forever. Stop worrying, let go, and let God handle this.

God's Plan is Always Best

2/4/2014

Have you ever had your plans changed, later to realize God planned it for His glory?

Picture

I've seen that multiple times in my life. Some of the best changes in my life were originally the hardest. I've moved multiple times as a minister's kid. Yes, I've left friends behind, but I've been able to grow closer to God with each move. When I was younger (Kindergarten-first grade) I asked God to let me be a Christian singer for Him. Apparently He had other plans, as I can't sing (haha (: ). Over the past few months I've been seeing talents and gifts He's given me that I can worship Him with. Maybe He wants me to worship Him with my words; my writing. I could write letters of encouragement to a friend who's going through a hard time.

Picture

He wants me to use my art for His glory. Sometimes we don't know why we can't sing really well like our friend, or maybe we can't relay words very well(Moses couldn't, and look what God did through Him!). God turns our weaknesses into strengths.

2 Corinthians 12:9

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

What talents has God given you that you could be praising Him with? I'd love to help you find a way to serve Him with your talents!

Blessings,

Moriah

Endless Grace

Grace. It's a gift we receive from God, freeing us from the chains of sin. It cannot be earned.

Ephesians 2:8

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

When we become Christians, we are given grace, yet we still sin(we're human).

He STILL forgives us. A lot of times its hard for us to share the grace we've been given; it may be easier to forgive a friend who gossiped about you, then is sorry, than to forgive them after they do it constantly, even though they ask for forgiveness. God's grace is endless. No matter how much we sin, He still is there, waiting for you with open arms.

James 4:6a

"But he gives us more grace."

I hope you have received God's grace, and you will join me in truly experiencing and sharing it.

Blessings,

Moriah
