I finally put down my pen as I finish my last writing assignment for school. Now to science, then math, then history! Do you ever have those days when everything seems to go slowly? No matter how hard you try, you can't hurry and get on to the next thing. We learn to text fast, and if someone doesn't text us in the next two seconds, we'll vow to never speak to them again. We rush through grocery shopping, and hope we didn't forget anything and have to hurry back. We grow impatient when a fast food restaurant doesn't live up to its title. Technology gives us the ability to search anything and in 0.35646635 seconds we have the answer to any question. We run past the elderly woman on the street everyday, never once thinking about what she is going through. You may be like me and speak really fast. I also seem to have more thoughts on my mind at one time than all pins on Pinterest! Take a moment and stop scrolling through Pinterest. Slow down and notice others around you!
"In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk."
Had Paul just preached and then left the crowd, this miracle might not have occurred. Paul noticed this man. He slowed down and saw both his physical and spiritual need for healing. I'm guilty of just carrying on with my life, and not noticing anything else around me. I'm either in too much of a hurry or I'm staring at the screen of a smartphone. Take a moment and ask God to help you slow down and notice the needs of others. Then go out in your world and live that out! Tell others about Christ and what He's done for them! Slow down.
